The Asociación Juvenil Nómadas de Blanca, Nomads Youth Association of Blanca in English, or just 'Nómadas' as we usually call it, is a non-governmental and non-profit organization established in the village of Blanca, Region of Murcia, in the Southeast of Spain. Our local work is mainly developed in our village and in the other municipalities of our region, although we work with organizations and youngsters coming from very different parts of Spain too.
Nómadas was set up in March 2007, at the begining we were few but enthusiastic young people willing to work for the improvement of our local community, with some expectations -not many-, and a very low budget. Three years later our organization has more than 80 members coming from all around the Region of Murcia -and we have work with youngsters coming from many different places in Spain-, our budget has grown considerably in this time, we have developed a large number of successful initiatives and we keep our passion for the work we develop.
Nómadas main aims are:
- Promoting international mobility among the youngsters through volunteering programs and youth exchanges mainly.
- Promoting the active participation of the young people in the local community where they live.
- Spreading human values as democracy, tolerance, solidarity, equality or enviornment sustainability among the youngsters.
Nómadas pursues its aims through different programs, at local and international level, the most important one in which we are enrolled is the 'Youth in Action' Programme of the European Commission. Through this program Nomadas is developing or has developed the following international initiatives:

- Organizing international youth exchanges in our village, hosting youngsters from different European Union countries.
- Participating in training courses, aimed to youth workers and youth leaders, held in the European Union.

At local level our work is focused on offering new leisure and education opportunities to the young people, through trainnings, workshops, travels, Etc. and especially focused on promoting the active participation of youngsters, facilitating the young people the resources to organize and manage their own initiatives.
